Not Charizards. Not Pikachus. Not some ultra-rare chase card. Weedles.
You ever have a moment that just… clicks?
For me, it was the day I found an old, slightly worn Base Set Weedle in a stack of childhood cards. It wasn’t shiny. It wasn’t rare. But something about it—the simplicity, the nostalgia, the smile it brought to my face—sparked something deep inside me.
That’s when I said it out loud:
“I’m going to collect 10,000 Weedles.”
And not just any version—this mission is laser-focused on collecting 10,000 copies of Base Set Weedles, including:

Why Base Set Weedle?
Base Set Weedle is where it all started. It’s the OG. Before alt-arts and crazy pulls… before graded flexes and box breaks… there was this tiny, overlooked Bug-type doing its thing in the early days of the Pokémon TCG.
While most collectors passed over Weedle on their way to shinier targets. Weedle is simple. Consistent. Familiar.
Weedle is the underdog. It’s humble. It’s the kind of card most collectors toss aside or forget—but that’s what makes it so meaningful to me.
This quest isn’t about flipping cards or chasing the next hype.It’s about collecting with purpose. About bringing something a little weird, a little nostalgic, and a whole lot of fun back into the hobby.
10,000 is a big number, but I love the idea of seeing how far passion and community can take a simple goal.
So now, I'm going back to where it all began.
Where I’m Starting
As of today, I’ve got a binder, a dream and a small stack of Weedles.
I’ve gathered just a handful of 1st Edition, Shadowless, and Unlimited Weedles. Each one is sleeved. Labeled. Logged. And cherished.
But this is just the beginning.
My goal is to grow this collection organically—through trades, donations, purchases, community swaps, and card show connections. Every Weedle counts. Every card has a story. And I’ll be documenting the entire journey.
I’m not starting from a mountain of inventory or a giant budget. I’m starting from curiosity, connection, and the love of the hobby.
What This Collection Means
Honestly? It’s about more than the cards. This isn’t about flexing value. It’s about community, nostalgia, and collecting with a purpose.
There’s something beautiful about building a collection that most people would never think to start.
This is a personal challenge. A social experiment. A love letter to a Pokémon that never gets the spotlight. It’s a way to connect with other collectors, spark conversations, and build something totally unique from the ground up.
That’s what excites me. It’s quirky, sure. But that’s what makes it fun!
And let’s be real—how epic is it going to feel when I can flip through binders full of base set Weedles and say, “Yeah, I did that!”
